Saying Good-bye

Robin's funeral was on April 18th in Fresno, CA. We first went to Sacramento for 2 days prior to spend time with Jason, Leslie and Carol (Aaron's family). With dreaded anticipation, we drove down to Fresno for Robin's funeral. The service was so very sweet. Robin's sisters and father spoke. The epilogue was very humorous and as her sister put it, Robin would have wanted it that way, she wouldn't have wanted everyone sitting around being all morose.

I feel honored to have known Robin. She was and is such an inspiration to all of us to have continued hope and humor in the face of adversity. It is so important for everyone to understand and know about being on the bone marrow donor registry. It is just a simple cheek swab, and you may be able to save someone's life, or in Robin's case, extend it long enough for them to have more precious time with their family.
