Two very long weeks

So, on Thursday, April 2nd, we decided to go visit Aaron's family for a day or two in Sacramento. This was the day that Aaron accepted the job in Tucson. So we were talking about that fact on our drive to Sac. It dawned on us that we had only three weeks before it was necessary to move, so we had better get our tushies down to Tucson to find a place to live.

When we arrived in Sacramento, we asked Aaron's mom if she would be willing to have Camden stay with her while we went on our Tucson adventure. She said it would be fine, and on Saturday, April 4th, we flew to Tucson with the intention of being back to Reno by Tuesday, April 7th. On Monday night we still didn't have a place to live, so we decided to stay an extra day to keep looking. Good thing we did because at 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, we had finally found our perfect rental house.

So on Wednesday, 4/8, we arrived at the airport at 6:30 a.m. to fly home to Reno. We have some great airline perks that make travel very cheap for us, but the problem is that we fly stand-by. Apparently there was another flight that was cancelled that morning, and all of its passengers were placed on the flight we were supposed to take. There was no room for the rest of the day. Feeling very anxious to get home, we rented a car a drove to Phoenix so that we could fly out from there. We made it as far as our layover in Salt Lake, but the flights into Reno were over sold, yet again.

We had planned on being in Salt Lake that weekend, (4/10), anyway for a baby blessing, but had really planned on being home for a few days in between the two trips. Since it was now Wednesday afternoon, and we were going to have to wait until Thursday morning to fly back to Reno, pick up Camden, and turn around and drive back to Salt Lake on Friday, I opted to just stay in SLC with Audrey rather than do that. So Aaron stood by for some very full flights, and by some miracle actually got on a flight Wednesday night.

Aaron met his mom and Camden in Reno, and the three of them drove out to Salt Lake on Thursday, 4/9. Aaron was home in Reno for all of about 15 hours, and he did a great job of getting everything together for his drive to Salt Lake.

We had a really nice time in Utah. We stayed at my sisters house for one of the nights, and then moved over to my Aunt Lorrie's house for the rest of the time since Stephanie was having other planned house guests. All of my brothers and sisters and their children decided to travel to Salt Lake, very impromptu, for a get together. This made Easter weekend so much fun. We had an Easter egg hunt where all of the cousins participated and everyone was together... well, except for mom and dad who we missed very much! We had a lot of fun coloring eggs too. We made a home made dye, so I didn't freak out too much when Camden started drinking it since it was all food ingredients. :)

On Sunday, we drove to Lehi for Aaron's sister's baby's blessing. We had a great Easter Sunday with his family and got to spend some special time with his dad who doesn't get to see the kids, or us, very often at all. The weather was beautiful, the food was good, and the company/family was awesome!

We decided not to drive home on Monday as every day prior to that had been so crazy. We wanted a day to just relax and hang around. So yesterday, Tuesday we finally ventured home, in a blizzard no less. We were the dumb ones for not checking the weather, but sheesh, it was 70 degrees on Monday! Who would have thought that once we got to Battle Mountain, NV, it would be a complete white out and 29 degrees? Spring is always crazy.

So now two weeks later, we are home and we have about 8 days to pack up our house and begin our move to Tucson. Time is going so fast.
